Wheel of Consent® weekend immersion · Boulder, CO Feel the difference between giving and giving yourself away.

A three-day immersive practice in embodied consent, desire, and relational attunement. This isn’t a lecture. It’s a practice.

Have you ever

If any of these land as “yes, that’s me”

  • Felt your body tense when someone asks “what do you want?”, so you say “I don’t know” or “whatever you want”?
  • Given from obligation so many times you’ve forgotten what generous giving feels like?
  • Received a compliment, a gift, or care and immediately felt the urge to deflect, minimize, or give something back?
  • Said yes when your body was screaming no because you didn’t want to disappoint someone?
  • Felt guilty for wanting pleasure that’s just for you?
  • Started giving someone a massage for your own enjoyment, then caught yourself halfway through focused only on whether they liked it?

…this weekend is for you.

What is the Wheel of Consent?

Two questions that change everything

The Wheel of Consent®, created by Dr. Betty Martin, is a framework for understanding touch, desire, and intimacy. It rests on two questions that are usually tangled together: who is doing the action, and who is it for?

Untangling them reveals four distinct ways of being in contact. Each has its own gift, and each has a shadow: the subtle ways we override ourselves and each other when consent is fuzzy.

These distinctions change how you relate to partners, friends, colleagues, family, and yourself. They are simple to understand and surprisingly hard to feel, which is why we practice them in the body.

Serving

You’re doing, and it’s for them. The gift is generous giving from overflow rather than obligation.

Taking

You’re doing, and it’s for you. The gift is enjoying touch for your own pleasure, with permission.

Accepting

They’re doing, and it’s for you. The gift is receiving care without bracing, deflecting, or performing.

Allowing

They’re doing, and it’s for them. The gift is offering access within limits you’ve chosen.

The format

Slow enough to go deep

Through partnered exercises that are fully clothed and non-sexual, solo reflection, and group integration, you’ll learn to recognize consent in your body, not just think about it.

Open to all genders and relationship structures. No prior experience or partner required, just a willingness to slow down and pay attention.

Led by Jade Levinson, Wheel of Consent® facilitator and ongoing assistant facilitator for Like a Pro: The Wheel of Consent for Professionals with Robyn Dalzen.

“[The 3-minute game is a] great way to learn if I feel regulated around potential partners and if they can be present and take care of me the ways I need.”Past participant
“I’ve really noticed the importance of moving, calming, and addressing my body’s needs first. It helps me show up so much better.”Michael M.
